Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has called for the elimination of barriers to the digital economy in Africa.
The nation’s number two citizen made the call during his Shettima addresses #UNGA79.
He hinted that the elimination of such barrier should positively reflect in the reduction of costs of internet services and intellectual property rights.
He also highlighted the need for the regulation of cryptocurrencies with the view to not only boosting small scale businesses, but helping in fighting organized crime.
“The UN should work towards eliminating barriers to the digital economy in Africa, such as high costs of internet services and intellectual property rights.”
