The Supreme Court has reaffirmed Edozie Njoku, as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
Independent reported that the apex court made the pronouncement on Friday in a judgement on an application by Njoku, which sought the regularisation of the amended judgment delivered on May 9, 2022, by Justice Mary Peter Odili.
Njoku’s motion followed a letter of the Supreme Court to him on January 19, 2023, wherein the apex court addressed him as the National Chairman of APGA and advised him to approach the court by way of a motion to correct the slip.
It was gathered that the slip which was corrected by the court has restored Njoku as the authentic National Chairman of APGA.
Njoku was removed by a Jigawa High Court in a suit numbered JDU/022/2021 between Alhaji Garba Aliyu and Chief Jude Okeke & 2 Ors.
The Supreme Court Judge, Justice Garba Lawal, in a lead judgment held that Njoku was wrongly removed at Jigawa High Court without being joined as a party.
Subsequently, Justice Lawal stated that because Njoku’s application was meritorious, his prayer to remain the APGA’s National Chairman was granted.
Njoku, while reacting to the Supreme Court ruling, appealed to the Governor of Anambra state, Chukwuma Soludo, to make himself available for a roundtable discussion on the way forward for the party, even as he promised to do everything possible to bring stability and peace to the party.
