Captain of Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo, has shared an emotional message following the club’s exit from the AFC Champions League semi-finals.
The Saudi Arabian side fell short of reaching the final after suffering a 3-2 loss to Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale, dashing Ronaldo’s hopes of lifting a major trophy this season.
Al Nassr’s campaign has been marked by setbacks, they were knocked out of the King’s Cup in October and currently sit eight points behind Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League standings, with only five games remaining.
As the 40-year-old forward faces another season without silverware since joining the Saudi outfit, he expressed his gratitude to the fans and commended his teammates for their effort.
Posting on X, Ronaldo said, “Sometimes the dream has to wait. I’m proud of this team and everything we gave on the pitch.
“Thank you to all the fans who believed in us and stood by us every step of the way. Your support means the world.”
