Protesters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital have warned business owners not to open tomorrow, Tuesday, or risk possible attack.
The protesters, who marched through the streets with placards calling for improved governance, perceived the opening of businesses as a lack of solidarity with their demands.
The protesters chanted slogans calling for the removal of leaders, including President Tinubu, Governor Wike, and Senator Akapbio, and complained of hunger and bad governance, according to Independent.
They warned business owners to join the protest or face consequences, saying, “If you open your shops tomorrow, you will see what will happen.”
Meanwhile, another group of protesters has blocked the Akpajo section of the East-West Road, stopping motorists and continuing their 10-day protest for better governance.
The protesters were escorted by police operatives and did not attack residents or businesses.
The irate youths, including men and women, chanted “Tinubu must go, Wike must go, Akapbio must go, hunger too much.” among others as the trekked.
Speaking in pidgin English, the protesters said, “We dey do protest, you dey do your business, tomorrow you better not open your shops, if you open you will see what will happen.
“You better come out and protest against bad governance with us, we must protest against all our bad leaders, they must go.”
