Popular media personality, Toke Makinwa, has revealed that she has been overwhelmed with marriage proposals following her candid remarks about being open to remarriage—regardless of whether it’s as a second, third, fourth, or even fifth wife.
The buzz began after a recent episode of her podcast, Toke Moments, in which she opened up about her evolving views on marriage. In the now-viral clip, Makinwa said, “In all honesty, at this point in my life, if I have the opportunity to be the second, third, fourth, or fifth wife, I will take it.”
She elaborated further, shedding light on the pressures that come with being a successful and independent woman. “I am the boss everywhere and that could be tiring. You feel like you need someone to lean on—someone that could decide what’s for dinner. Must it be me?” she added.
Shortly after the podcast aired, Makinwa took to social media to share a screenshot of her inbox, which was flooded with messages from men declaring their interest in marrying her.
One standout email had the subject line: “GOAL: Can we get married?” The sender introduced himself as a senior data analyst based in Ibadan, highlighting how seriously some viewers took her comments.
