Controversial street-hop singer, Badmus Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, emerged victorious over entertainer Darlington Okoye, popularly Speed Darlington, in a much-anticipated celebrity boxing showdown held in Lagos.
The event, aptly titled “Chaos in the Ring,” took place early Saturday at the Balmoral Events Centre, where Portable clinched the win via technical knockout.
Tensions ran high as the two entertainers, who had been locked in a public war of words, finally settled their scores in the ring.
The fiery bout saw both fighters exchange fierce blows until Portable ultimately overpowered Speed Darlington, who reportedly sustained an injury to his right wrist.
Their clash was sparked by a disagreement that escalated online after Speed Darlington allegedly invited Portable to perform at his show with an offer of ₦500,000, an amount Portable deemed disrespectful.
“You’re using my name to promote your show and offering ₦500k? I don’t roll with poor people,” Portable fired back in a widely circulated video.
Speed Darlington, clearly ruffled by the rejection, responded with a barrage of insults, accusing Portable of dragging his family into the spat.
The tension reached a boiling point during the pre-fight weigh-in, where both artists nearly came to blows ahead of the main event. While Portable boasted about his raw strength, Speed Darlington countered with bold claims of his own.
“I’ll finish you. Let’s go now! I’ve done it before—I beat Charles Okocha, and I’ll do it again,” Darlington declared.
But the result didn’t go his way, as Portable dominated the ring from start to finish, sealing his victory and thrilling the crowd with his energy and bravado.
