The political allies and principal aides of President Bola Tinubu have celebrated the President’s victory at the Supreme Court on Thursday.
Tinubu’s aides and allies stormed his office at the State House following the judgement by the apex court, which affirmed his victory in the February 25 presidential election.
It would be recalled that the victory of the President who was declared as the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, was challenged at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal by the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and that the Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi respectively.
However, the two presidential candidates appealed at the Supreme Court after their petitions were thrown away for lack of merit at the tribunal.
The apex court on Thursday also affirmed the judgement of the tribunal which upheld Tinubu’s victory, while dismissing Atiku and Obi’s appeals for lacking merit.
Celebrating the victory, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu all stormed Tinubu’s office at the State House Abuja.
Also present at the president’s office were: the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Mr Lateef Fagbeni SAN, and other president’s aides, including his ADC.
