Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, in the last Saturday’s presidential election in Nigeria, Gregory Peter Obi held a meeting with the heads of the African Union Observer team in Nigeria today.
According to him, the heads of the Observer team, present at the meeting were; President Uhuru Kenyatta, and the Ecowas Observer team, President Earnest Bai Koroma.
“Today, I was in a meeting with heads of African Union Observer team, President Uhuru Kenyatta, and Ecowas Observer team, President Earnest Bai Koroma – PO,’ ha wrote.
The former governor of Anambra State, was among the presidential candidates at the just concluded presidential election in Nigeria, on Saturday February 25, 2023.
He became third in the election, after polling a score of 6,101,533 votes, loosing to the opposition candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who Polled a score of 8, 794, 726 votes, while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who took the second position in the election, Polled a total score of 6, 984, 520 votes.
However, Obi and Atiku have both rejected the outcome of the election, noting that the process was not in conformity with the electoral law of Nigeria.
The duo, have both promised to seek redress in the court, to challenge the process and results of the election, and they have both claimed at different fora, that they won the election.
