Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso, were part of the dignitaries who attended the burial of Mrs. Genevieve Duke.
Mrs Duke, who was the mother of the former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, was buried on Wednesday at Iju Hills, Ogun state.
Other dignatiries at the event included: NNPP chieftain, Buba Galadima, past and current governors, and serving lawmakers, among others.
Also via his X handle on Wednesday, Kwankwaso, a former Governor of Kano State, condoled with the Duke family over the death of their matriarch.
He wrote, “Today, I joined my brother, H.E Donald Duke, the former governor of Cross River State, in laying to rest his beloved mother, Mrs. Genevieve Duke, at Iju Hills, Ogun State.
“May God grant the Duke family the fortitude to bear this huge loss.”
