Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary Public Lecture was held at the National Mosque, Abuja on Friday.
The event is part of scheduled programmes to mark the nation’s independence.
The Nigerian government had on Monday outlined activities for the 63rd anniversary of the nation.
The agenda for the 2023 Independence day celebration was released by the Secretary of the Government of the Federation, George Akume, at the World Press Conference in Abuja.
The theme of this year’s anniversary is “Nigeria at 63, Renewed Hope for Unity & Prosperity.
The programme of events, according to Akume are as follows:
World Press Conference on Monday, September 26, at the National Press Center, Radio House Abuja at 11:00am
Anniversary Symposium/Public Lecture, Thursday, September 28, 2023 at State house Conference Center at 10 am
Lecture on Friday, September 29, 2023, National Mosque Conference Center at 10:00am and Juma’at Prayer at the National Mosque at 1:00 pm
Presidential Broadcast, Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 7:00 am
Inter-Denominational Church Service on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at the National Christian Center at 10:00am
Military Parade on Monday, October 2, 2023 at the Presidential Villa, at 9:00am.
