The Peoples Democratic Party has cautioned former Rivers State Local Government Chairmen, whose tenure has expired, against actions that could disrupt peace in the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by Debo Ologunagba, National Publicity Secretary, the party noted that their three-year tenure has ended, and advised them to avoid any conduct that may constitute disruption in local government administration.
The party urged the people of Rivers State to remain calm and law-abiding, working together for stability and democracy, according to Nigerian Tribune.
Additionally, the PDP announced the extension of its congress forms sale from June 17 to June 28, 2024, pursuant to its constitution.
All party leaders and members are advised to take note of the extension.
“All party leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members should note the extension and be guided accordingly,” the statement added.
