The Ondo chapter of Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, has rebuffed the suspension of the National Organizing Secretary, Abagun Kole Omololu, and the National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Adejare Ajayi, by Acting Leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo.
It said the suspension of the duo, National Officers, was unfair and against the principles of Afenifere and traditions which had been practiced over 70 years.
This was contained in a communique after an emergency meeting of the Ondo Leaders of Afenifere and signed by Ondo Afenifere Chairman, Hon. Chief Korede Duyile and State Secretary, Hon. Bakkita Bello.
It stated that the Ondo-born Omololu, was not reported to the State Branch for any misconduct, lapses or abuse of office.
The communique reads in parts, “Neither is the Branch aware of his being invited to any meetings or appearance before a disciplinary committee; from the foregoing, the purported suspension of our son, Abagun Kole Omololu is hereby rejected and we also advise that the National Officers be reinstated.
“The meeting therefore passed a vote of confidence in the two National Officers. Abagun Kole Omololu, the National Organizing Secretary, and Comrade Adejare Ajayi, the National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, respectively on having been found very dutiful, committed, responsive and loyal in the discharge of their respective responsibilities and offices.”
