The Zenith Labour Party has announced Abass Mimiko as its candidate for the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State.
Mimiko emerged through affirmation at the primary election held at the party’s secretariat in Akure, the state capital.
After his emergence, Mimiko addressed party members, pledging to prioritize education, health, economy, and security if elected as the next governor of Ondo State.
“We are a force to be reckoned with in this election. We will ensure food security; within a year of our being in office, we will have a surplus of food in Ondo State. We will ensure affordable quality education, industrialization, housing, and free health services for all residents are part of our programs,” Mimiko said.
Regarding his brother’s, former Governor Mimiko’s, support for his ambition, Abbas stated that his brother had thrown his weight behind him in his quest to become the next governor of the state.
“Former Governor Mimiko said he has no doubt if Abass becomes the governor of the state, everyone will enjoy it. I am coming out because he knows I would build on his achievements,” he declared.
