The Delta State Government has reiterated its dedication to delivering democratic dividends under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, Community Development, Okiemute Okwagbe, expressed satisfaction with the administration’s progress, citing the governor’s innovative policies and pragmatic programmes under the MORE Agenda, which prioritises meaningful development, opportunities for all, realistic reforms, and enhanced peace and security.
In a statement, Okwagbe outlined the achievements of Governor Oborevwori since his inauguration on May 29, 2023.
“From the revitalisation of critical infrastructure to impactful social investment programmes, the governor has demonstrated an exceptional capacity to address the pressing needs of the state,” he stated.
Okwagbe highlighted the administration’s strides in infrastructure, noting that the construction and rehabilitation of highways, urban roads, and rural access roads have improved mobility and stimulated economic activities across the state.
He also commended the governor’s focus on job and wealth creation initiatives targeted at empowering youths, women, and small-scale entrepreneurs.
According to Okwagbe, Governor Oborevwori’s administration has made substantial investments in education and healthcare, including upgrading facilities and introducing innovative programmes to ensure accessible and high-quality services for all.
He further acknowledged the government’s support for the agricultural sector, which has enhanced food security and created employment opportunities for Delta residents.
Concluding his remarks, Okwagbe asserted that Governor Oborevwori’s people-oriented policies and visionary leadership have set a new benchmark for governance in Delta State, positioning it as a model for other states to emulate.
