Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023, dissolved all the State Executive Council.
The governor, speaking through a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Media Projects, Crusoe Osagie, said that all special assistants, and senior special assistants, had been relieved of their appointments, noting that the dissolution of the council was with immediate effect,
However, he expressed appreciation to the outgoing members of the council for their service to the government and people of Edo state.
It would be recalled that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, performed woefully, at the last general elections in the state.
The result of the last election has shown that Mr Obaseki has lost popularity in Edo politics, as a result of his former boss, Adams Oshiomhole of the All Progressives Congress, who has fully returned to the political scene after recording an overwhelming victory in the last elections, in the state.
However, the struggle to take over the Edo State House of Assembly has become fierce, as the two political bigwigs in the state are locked in a fierce battle, to retain their relevance in the Edo political scene.
