The Nigerian Railway Corporation has announced a temporary halt in its Warri-Itakpe train operations.
This development was revealed by the corporation’s Managing Director, Kayode Opeifa, through a post shared on his X account on Thursday.
According to the announcement, the suspension will span 72 hours.
The disruption in service is attributed to a technical engine failure that occurred on Tuesday, April 9, 2025.
“In view of the situation, the NRC has suspended operations on the Warri-Itakpe route for 72 hours. This pause will allow our technical team to conduct a full audit, resolve all identified issues, and restore safe and reliable service,” read a statement signed by Henrietta Eregare, the NRC’s public relations officer.
