Eight individuals have been apprehended in connection with the suspected killing and clandestine burial of a newborn at Kwatam Private Hospital, situated along Baga Road in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Security expert Zagazola Makama brought the incident to public attention on Saturday through a post on his verified X account, revealing that the disturbing event unfolded around 1:00 p.m. on April 18, 2025.
According to his report, alarmed residents raised concerns after spotting some individuals attempting to secretly bury a baby within the hospital compound.
“Security operatives swiftly responded, cordoned off the area, and arrested all suspects involved in the act,” the post stated.
In response, forensic personnel were deployed to the location, where they exhumed the infant’s remains for further analysis.
The suspects are currently in the custody of the State Criminal Investigation Department, where they are undergoing interrogation as investigations continue to unravel the motive and full details behind the incident.
