The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi has disclosed that his mission to build a new Nigeria would not make him to leave the country, saying that nobody can force him out of Nigeria.
Obi made this submission at Onitsha Holiday Resort in Anambra State in his reaction to calls for him to leave Nigeria.
Recall that a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, Femi Fani-Kayode had stated that Obi should leave Nigeria and never come back.
The former aviation minister, Fani-Kayode made the call in response to Obi’s lamentation that he was under pressure to leave the country.
Meanwhile, the former Anambra governor On Wednesday claimed that the All Progressives Congress and some government agencies were making attempt to divert the country’s attention from the from the alleged electoral fraud of the just concluded polls.
Obi reassured his party commitment to creating a new Nigeria because there are too many “thieves” inflicting suffering on the masses.
Obi said, “There is too much suffering in this country, and that is what we, in Labour Party, are fighting to end. There are many thieves in the country.
“So, Labour Party is fighting to create a new Nigeria. I am here with you, and nobody is going to force me to leave Nigeria.”
