The Independent National Electoral Commission, has again, suspended the ongoing collation of votes for the just concluded general elections.
This was disclosed by the Chairman of the electoral body, Yakubu Mahmud in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to him, the collation of the results would commenced by 2pm on Tuesday.
This is the third time the electoral body would be suspending the process.
The electoral body have come under heavy criticism over the conduct of the just concluded election.
Premium Politics on Monday reported that the collation agent of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dino Melaye, knocked the electoral body over what he described as an attempt to favor the All Progressives Congress.
Also former president Olusegun Obasanjo, has called for the cancellation of election results in areas where the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System failed to work.
“Let me appeal to the Chairman of INEC, if his hands are clean, to save Nigeria from the looming danger and disaster which is just waiting to happen.
” If the Chairman can postpone elections four days to the election, he can do everything to rectify the errors of the last two days – no BVAS, no result to be acceptable; and no uploading through Server, no result to be acceptable,” he partly said.
