The former Governor of Akwa Ibom State and All Progressives Congress senatorial candidate, Godswill Akpabio, has been declared winner of the Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial election.
He was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission in the early hours of Monday by the returning officer for the senatorial district, Professor Anthony Udoh.
He said that the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, who received 115,401 valid votes, met all requirements to be proclaimed the winner.
With 69,838 votes, Emmanuel Enoidem, the PDP’s candidate, finished in second place.
