Former Head of State and Chairman of the National Peace Committee, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, has urged Nigerians to maintain peace and order after the elections.
The Punch reported that Abdulsalami said this after exercising his civic right at his polling unit, Hilltop polling unit in Minna, Niger State.
Meanwhile, he gave commendations on the general conduct of Nigerians during the election in Niger state and the country.
Abdulsalami said, “I have been able to perform my civic responsibility, I am happy we have peace in the country during the elections.
He mentioned that the process of casting the vote was comfortable and the BVAS may have been helpful as well.
“From what I have seen here, it is very comfortable, the moment they see you, the BVAS captures you and gives you your ballot papers for you to cast your vote.
” From all that has been going on, everything is going on smoothly and peacefully. We thank God for how things are going on in Nigeria and Niger State.”
