Paris Saint-Germain, already crowned Ligue 1 champions for the season, continued their impressive domestic form by edging Le Havre 2-1 at the Parc des Princes on Saturday, preserving their unbeaten run in the league.
Having sealed the title two weeks earlier and secured a spot in the Champions League semi-finals midweek, PSG showed no signs of easing off.
Luis Enrique’s men got off to a flying start when Desire Doue opened the scoring in the eighth minute with a deflected shot, courtesy of a well-placed pass from Bradley Barcola.
PSG dominated the opening 45 minutes and would have felt unlucky not to have built a more commanding lead before the break.
The hosts doubled their advantage shortly after the restart, with Goncalo Ramos finishing off a slick move in the 50th minute.
Senny Mayulu chipped the ball over goalkeeper Mathieu Gorgelin, allowing Ramos to slot home from close range.
However, Le Havre managed to pull one back at the hour mark as Issa Soumare rose highest to nod in from a corner. That proved to be the highlight for the visitors, who continue to battle relegation in 16th place.
With the win, PSG stretched their advantage over second-placed Monaco to a staggering 24 points.
The victory also marked a 10th consecutive league triumph for Luis Enrique’s side, who have been in complete control throughout the domestic campaign.
Barcola’s assist for the opener took his tally to 10 in Ligue 1 this season – the highest in the division.
