The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai says fixing deplorable roads in the state is the responsibility of the local government.
El-Rufai said this in a tweet while reacting to TrakaNG report, calling the attention of the governor to some bad roads in the state.
TrakaNG had tweeted, “ATTENTION!!! Dear Gov @elrufai This is the deplorable state of Halima road in Chikun LGA, Kaduna State. A major access road connecting Chikun and Kaduna south LGA is currently motorable for road users. Kindly help do the needful. FixBad Roads”
Responding to the tweet, the governor said the roads would be fixed, stressing that it is the local government’s responsibility and not that of the state government.
He wrote: “Thank you @TrackaNG for the heads up. The Administrator of Kaduna Capital Territory @HafizBayero will lead MD @KADRA_kdsg Engr Habiba Buhari, & the Chairmen of Kaduna South & Chikun LGs to fix the road. It is an LG responsibility not that of the State Government really. God Bless.”
