Adamawa State Governor, Ahmad Umaru Fintiri, has praised the peaceful and organized conduct of the ongoing Local Government elections in the state.
Speaking after casting his vote at Kirshiga Ward in Madagali Local Government Area, Governor Fintiri commended the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission for ensuring a hitch-free electoral process.
The governor expressed delight at the high voter turnout and enthusiasm, noting that the election will pave the way for new leaders to emerge and increase youth and women’s participation in governance, according to Politics Nigeria.
He reiterated his commitment to nurturing young leaders, aiming to produce a new generation of vibrant leaders by 2027.
Voters at Kirshiga Ward also expressed satisfaction with the election process, urging winners to fulfill their campaign promises.
The election saw participation from 18 political parties, with the All Progressive Congress opting out due to concerns over ADSIEC’s guidelines.
Governor Fintiri commended the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission for a well-organized election.
“I am grateful for the manner in which ADSIEC has organized this election,” Governor Fintiri said.
“The people of Adamawa are very happy, and there is high participation in all the wards and polling units visited. The high spirits are a delight to see, and new leaders will emerge from this process, and we give thanks to God.”
The governor also spoke about his expectations for governance after the election, promising greater participation by young people and women.
“The government belongs to the people, and my administration will continue to nurture youths into good leaders. This is my dream, and it will be delivered to the state.” He announced that by 2027, his administration will have produced vibrant leaders who can take over from him.
