The chairman of the Labour Party, Lagos State Chapter, Olukayode Salako, has resigned from his position.
Salako took this step as a result of his new appointment as a Special Adviser on Lagos Affairs and Liason Operations to the National Chairman of the Party, Comrade Julius Abure.
The former chairman handed over the the position to Mrs. Dayo Ekong who will see to the affairs of the party in the state.
During the his handover, Salako addressed the rumours of him working for the All Progressives Congress, noting that he cannot be a mole in a party he is contesting under.
”I am so grateful that Labour Party made me, not APC for the many years I was with them,” Salako said.
He explained further, that he cannot continue to run the affairs of the party because he is also one of the contestants.
However, the new chairman of the party in Lagos State, Mrs. Dayo Ekong has urged all the members of the party to support one another for a common goal of winning at the state and national level.
She promised an inclusive administration within the party during her tenure.
