Ahead of the November 2024 Governorship Election in Ondo State, Sola Ebiseni, the South-West campaign coordinator of the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi, has concluded all the necessary plans to join the Peoples Democratic Party in the State.
Ebiseni and his supporters across the 18 Local Government Areas of the State are taking the latest move to join the main opposition party, in preparation to partake in the next year’s governorship election in the state.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has earlier announced that the governorship election in the state will take on November 16, 2024.
However, Ebiseni who was once a PDP member and two-term Commissioner under the administration of former Governor Olusegun Mimiko of the PDP, would be leading members of the ‘Obidient movement’ and his supporters to the PDP ahead of the polls.
According to Peoples Gazette, the Secretary General of the Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, could not be reached, to comment on the authenticity of the new move, but one of his aides, Taiwo Asemudara, confirmed that Ebiseni would be returning to the opposition party by noon on Wednesday, alongside his supporters across the 18 local government areas of the state.
“He (Ebiseni) would be leading supporters to join the PDP today by noon,” he said.
Also, a source in the state executive council of the opposition party who spoke earlier on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Ebiseni is returning to the party.
“Truly, he will be reuniting with his former party today and we are pleased to welcome him back home,” he said.
