The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Wednesday, announced some changes in the leadership of the Red Chamber.
Akpabio who made this known on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, said the changes were necessary due to the appointment of the former Deputy Senate Leader, David Umahi as the Minister of Works, by President Bola Tinubu.
At the commencement of the plenary, the senate president noted that the former Deputy Whip, Lola Ashiru, who is representing Kwara South, has been appointed as the Deputy Senate Leader.
Senator Akpabio added that Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, representing Ebonyi North Central Senatorial District, has also been appointed as the Deputy Whip, following the changes.
It would be recalled that Senator David Umahi who is the immediate former governor of Ebonyi State, represented the Ebonyi South Senatorial District at the Senate before he was appointed the Minister of Works by President Tinubu.
