Jurgen Klopp is reportedly content with his current position at Red Bull, despite recent speculation linking him with a potential return to management at Real Madrid.
Klopp, who stepped down from his role at Liverpool earlier in 2025, assumed the position of Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull in January.
In this role, he oversees a network of clubs including RB Leipzig in Germany, the New York Red Bulls in the United States, and Brazil’s Bragantino.
Following Real Madrid’s Champions League quarter-final exit to Arsenal this week, rumours have intensified around the future of current manager Carlo Ancelotti, prompting German media to suggest Klopp as a possible successor.
However, Klopp’s agent, Marc Kosicke, dispelled those rumours on Friday in a statement to Sky Deutschland, affirming that the 57-year-old is satisfied with his responsibilities at Red Bull.
“Jurgen is very happy with his new role with Red Bull,” Kosicke stated.
RB Leipzig head coach Zsolt Low also weighed in on the speculation, expressing doubt about Klopp switching to the Spanish capital.
“I could not imagine” Klopp taking over at Real Madrid, Low remarked. He added that the German coach is “very happy in the job.”
Low went on to highlight Klopp’s influential presence within the Red Bull football structure: “He’s shown that he can bring a club together, a group of 40, 50, 60 people, and take them with him.
“He adds incredible value with his experience, his human quality and his energy.”
Throughout his managerial career spanning more than two decades, Klopp has led Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, and Liverpool, always departing on his own terms — a rarity in modern football.
“No matter where he’s been, he’s given 100 percent,” Low emphasized. “Regardless of where he is he’s stayed and done the job. It’s important to him to make a clean exit.”
Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso, a former Real Madrid midfielder, remains a frontrunner for the role at the Bernabéu, though he told reporters on Friday that it was “not the time” to discuss his future.
