The official visit of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to Kano State on Monday was marred by the activities of some youths who hauled stones at the advance convoy of the President.
According to The PUNCH, the Buhari, had visited the State to commission some completed projects.
Despite the high security presence on the routes leading to Ahmadu Bello Way, where the President was to launch Galaxy Backbone Limited’s project, furious youths wielding sticks and stones reportedly attacked Buhari’s convoy and helicopter as it hovered above them.
The moment the enraged youngsters flung stones at the chopper believed to be carrying the President was captured on video and disseminated on social media.
One video showed locals arguing loudly with unidentifiable security agents as a convoy passed through their midst.
Another footage showed a road covered with stones as teargas canisters were fired to disperse the enraged crowd.
