The Lawmaker representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, has promised to personally cater for the scholarship of students from his constituency.
The lawmaker made this promise on Sunday in response to calls made by a group from the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Kaduna State.
El-Rufai had earlier shared a tweet of the previous week in review, listing key moments during plenary and keys decisions made.
Amongst the decisions was the plan to “set up two ad-hoc committees to pay the tuition fees of underprivileged pupils in various Islamic Schools in Gabasawa Ward and Unguwar Dosa Ward and also donated the sum of one million naira”.
Responding to the tweet by the lawmaker, the varsity’s association made a plea for more of such scholarship programs.
Their response read, “Dear Hon. Bello El-Rufai, we have a large number of Kaduna North students at @ABU_Campus as well. We hope that your scholarship program will also reach them soon, as the country is going through difficult times.”
To which the lawmaker responded by writing, “I am well aware. We are working on something. Please continue to be patient with us. Insha Allah, I will design a program for them.”
