Governor Uba Sani has constituted a dedicated nine-member medical team to oversee the health and well-being of Kaduna State pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj exercise.
The initiative was unveiled by the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Salihu S. Abubakar, following an inaugural meeting with both the medical team and the agency’s management on Monday.
The team, led by Dr. Bello Jamoh, is tasked with conducting in-depth pre-departure health screenings at the Mando Hajj Transit Camp in Kaduna.
They will also provide on-the-ground medical care in Saudi Arabia, working in tandem with the National Medical Team coordinated by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
According to Abubakar, the appointed professionals will maintain ongoing health surveillance of the pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage to ensure their fitness and safety.
“The health and safety of our pilgrims are of paramount importance. The team was carefully selected, considering members’ experience and we are confident in their ability to deliver excellent medical services throughout the Hajj,’’ he stated.
Abubakar emphasized that thorough health checks would be mandatory for all intending pilgrims, with special attention given to identifying pregnancies among female participants.
“There is zero tolerance for allowing pregnant pilgrims to travel for Hajj,” he cautioned, underscoring the team’s vital role in enforcing this requirement in line with Saudi Hajj regulations.
He further urged the team to carry out their responsibilities with utmost professionalism and commitment to ensure a seamless and spiritually fulfilling journey for all pilgrims.
