Kogi Senator, Sunday Karimi, has announced that the contractor handling the Kabba-Egbe-Ilorin Road project is expected to return to site within the next two weeks.
The senator, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District, made this known during his remarks at the 2024 Isanlu Day celebration held on Saturday.
He revealed that his persistent efforts to ensure the resumption of work on the road are beginning to bear fruit, assuring constituents that construction is likely to recommence soon.
Karimi further reaffirmed his commitment to the development of the region by donating N10 million towards the celebration.
He used the opportunity to rally support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration, urging the people of Kogi West to remain steadfast in their belief in the president’s leadership.
He emphasized that President Tinubu is determined to restore Nigeria’s economic fortunes, saying, “he means well for Nigerians, with Kogi West topmost on his administration’s agenda.”
The senator added, “Tinubu is not resting on his oars in the restoration of the nation’s economy,” and expressed confidence that the country is on the path to prosperity under the current leadership.
The event also witnessed generous contributions from other dignitaries. Femi Atteh SAN, a distinguished son of Isanlu and chief launcher for the occasion, donated N20 million, while Hon. Leke Abejide, the lawmaker representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, pledged N10 million.
