The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has wished Christians a merry Christmas and prayed for peace and prosperity in the country.
In a statement issued via his verified X handle on Monday, Shettima said that he hoped that the celebration would deepen Nigerians’ shared humanity and commitment to building a safe and happy world, where the enduring love and mercy of God thrive.
He also commended President Bola Tinubu for his leadership qualities and achievements in leading the country to overcome its challenges. He said that he was optimistic that Nigeria would continue to grow and prosper under Tinubu’s administration.
He urged Nigerians to be grateful for their sacrifices and contributions to the nation’s development. He said that their efforts would not be in vain as long as they remained united and patriotic.
The statement read, “Today, I congratulate fellow Nigerians especially Christian faithful on the occasion of this year’s Christmas celebrations.
“Beyond its religious significance, Christmas has evolved into a cultural and global celebration, fostering joy, gift-giving, and festive traditions.
