President Bola Tinubu has affirmed that he has absolute confidence on the integrity of his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, amid rumors that the latter has been trading off appointments to the highest bidder.
Premium Politics had reported that Gbajabiamila on Sunday issued a statement via his X handle stating that the Tinubu-led government is not run by politics and would not entertain such politicking.
His statement read in part, “We have a critical assignment to deliver and our objectives will not be interrupted by baseless accusations from unverifiable quarters. Nigerians can rest assured that the President and his strong team will deliver without distractions.”
Responding to these allegations in a meeting in Abuja on Monday, the President dismissed rumors that his Chief of Staff is dishonest and may be ousted.
He affirmed his confidence in Gbajabiamila, stating that if there were mistakes in his government he is ready to take the blame for it and do better.
He said, “About what is happening, I’ve told everyone in this country that I can make mistakes, then reroute and correct them. Perfection is that of God Almighty.
“I have absolute confidence on the integrity of my Chief of Staff. All campaign of colony and insinuations should stop. If I make mistakes, I’m ready to own up to it.”
