Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has authorized the installation of three new monarchs in the state and the presentation of them with staffs of office, as confirmed in an announcement.
In a statement released by the Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade, and distributed to the press on Wednesday, the details were outlined without alteration:
“According to the release, the names of the traditional rulers are, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sakiru Oyewole Akanni Oyelere, the Onifiditi of Fiditi who will be presented with the Staff of Office and coronated on Wednesday, 3rd July, 2024.
“On Friday 5th July, 2024, Oba Cornelius Abiola Taiwo Oladokun will be coronated and presented with the staff of office as His Royal Majesty, the Alaawe of Awe.”
“While the coronation of His Royal Majesty, Elempe of Tapa, Oba Titiloye Oyekanmi Sunday will take place on Monday July 8, 2024 and will be presented the Staff of Office.”
It is noteworthy that the Seyi Makinde administration, throughout its five-year tenure, has overseen the installation and coronation of over thirty Obas and Baales across the state.
