Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has directed security agents to immediately investigate and pursue the killers of the monarch of Chanchanji, Alhaji Tanimu Kunbiya, and his son, who were ambushed and killed on Friday evening along the Chanchanji-Takum road by unknown gunmen.
The monarch and his son were returning from a funeral event in Takum when they were attacked. Governor Kefas described the incident as a “heinous crime” and vowed to provide all necessary support to the security operatives to track down the killers.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communications, Emmanuel Bello, the governor stated, “Everyone involved must be brought to justice as soon as possible.”
He also called for calm among Takum residents, promising to leave no stone unturned in bringing the criminals to justice quickly.
Governor Kefas reiterated his resolve to rid the state of all acts of lawlessness and brigandage, emphasizing that the era of banditry and criminality has ended with the strong security measures his administration is implementing.
