The Governorship and State House of Assembly elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission was held on March 18, across 28 out of 36 states.
INEC has thus far, announced winners from 24 states, with others either been suspended or pending.
The results from the governorship election of Oyo state was the first to be announced by the commission on Monday, with the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and incumbent Governor of the state, Seyi Makinde, emerging as the winner of the poll.
The governorship election was conducted alongside the House of Assembly elections as well for the 28 concerned states. This is coming three weeks after a fiercely contested presidential election was conducted, producing the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the President-elect, as announced by INEC.

Enugu and Abia state Result
INEC has suspended the results collation in some parts of Abia and Enugu states.
Abia state Electoral Officer, Professor Nnenna, announced that the collation of results for the state governorship results will remain suspended till Tuesday 21 2023.
According to Nnenna, he received the order from INEC national headquarters to suspend collation of results from Obingwa Local Government Area of the state after hoodlums reportedly invaded their office in that LGA.
Adamawa State Result
INEC declared the Adamawa state governorship election inconclusive on the grounds of the votes margin between the APC and PDP candidates in the state.
The APC candidate, Senator Aishatu Dahiru aka. Binani polled 390,275 votes, while, the incumbent Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party polled 421,524 votes.
The Labour Party candidate, Alex Otti, has been declared the winner of the Abia State governorship election, following the declaration of results, of the most controversial Obingwa Local Government Area of the State on Wednesday.
After the collation of the outstanding results of the election, the Peoples Democratic Party scored 9,962 votes and while the Labour Party, 3,776 votes in the long awaited result.
Meanwhile, the LP has won in 10 LGAs, the PDP in six LGAs, and the Young Peoples Party in one LG, earlier.
