Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya on Thursday, lauded the emergence of former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as the newly elected National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
Governor Yahaya who is the Chairman of Northern State Governors’ Forum, also hailed the election of former senate spokesman, Sen. Ajibola Basiru, as National Secretary of the APC.
Commending Ganduje on his new achievement through a statement issued by the Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe, on Thursday, August 3, 2023, Governor Yahya also hailed the election of former senate Spokesman, Senator Ajibola Basiru, as the National Secretary of the party.
The NEC members of the party had during its 12th National Executive Council meeting elected both Ganduje and Ajibola as the Chairman and Secretary of the party.
The NEC meeting which was held at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja on Thursday afternoon, had President Bola Tinubu and some other Chieftains of the party in attendance.
Governor Yahaya who stated that Ganduje’s election was not just based on his exceptional leadership abilities, noted that it also underscores the trust and confidence fellow party stakeholders and members have in the former Kano governor.
“Your distinguished tenure as the Governor of Kano State demonstrated your commitment to the welfare of the people and the development of our great party and nation. As the newly elected National Chairman, you hold a critical position in steering our great party toward a united and prosperous future.
“Your experience and strategic vision will be vital in addressing the challenges ahead and harnessing the collective strength of the APC to bring about positive change for all Nigerians.
“I am confident that under your able guidance, the party will chart a course of progress, inclusivity, and good governance that will resonate with citizens across the country in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ mantra,” Governor Yahaya stated.
He however applauded the leadership direction and guidance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which he stated that it facilitated the smooth conduct of the caucus and NEC meetings that produced the new helmsmen of the ruling party. gov hails Ganduje in emergence as APC chair
