Following the announcement of the purported suspension of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Gandule, the ward executive have moved to visit the party secretariat today.
The mission of the ward executives of Ganduje in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, to visit the party secretariat include paying the National Chairman a solidarity visit.
The visit is scheduled for Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the party’s national secretariat.
The move came as an aftermath of the controversial suspension handed to Ganduje by the legal adviser of the ward, Halliru Gwanzo.
During a press briefing in Kano, Gwanzo justified the suspension by pointing to ongoing bribery allegations against Ganduje, according to the Punch.
He highlighted the bribery charges formally filed against the APC chairman by the Kano State government, noting Ganduje’s upcoming arraignment on Thursday.
Meanwhile, The National Working Committee NWC of the APC has petitioned the Inspector General of Police IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, asking him to arrest some elements of the New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP in Ganduje Ward of Kano State who announced the removal of the APC national chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje.
APC in a statement issued Tuesday in Abuja described the act as “downright criminal” and despicable.
However, the state leadership of the APC in Kano quickly intervened, overturning Ganduje’s suspension.
In a swift response, they imposed a six-month suspension on Gwanzo and other party leaders at the ward level who were involved in the decision.
However, the Kano State High Court has granted an ex parte order restraining the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, from parading himself as a member of the party.
the court ordered that henceforth, Ganduje should desist from presiding over all affairs of the National Working Committee of the APC.
The application granted by Justice Usman Na’abba on Tuesday followed an ex parte motion filed by Dr. Ibrahim Sa’ad on behalf of two executive members of Ganduje’s ward, Dawakin-Tofa Local Government Area, the Assistant Secretary, Laminu Sani and Legal Adviser, Haladu Gwanjo (plaintiffs), who were part of the nine ward executives who suspended Ganduje on Monday.
