A fire incident has ravaged the shop of popular TikTok personality, Rahama Saidu, situated along UDB Road in the Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State.
Reports revealed that, the blaze erupted just hours after officials from the Kano Urban Planning and Development Authority demolished a portion of the shop, citing unauthorized structural extensions.
While the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, an eyewitness at the scene on Thursday night told journalists that the inferno was allegedly sparked by welding activities.
The eyewitness revealed that a nearby shop owner had engaged welding technicians to repair damage to his shop, which had also been affected by the KNUPDA demolition exercise.
“After the demolition, Rahama came and cleared all her belongings from the shop. Unfortunately, this fire broke out not long after,” the eyewitness recounted.
In addition to Rahama’s property, a photographer’s studio in the vicinity also sustained damage in the fire.
Meanwhile, police officers cordoned off the area to deter potential looters.
