Matheus Cunha was the star as Wolves secured a sixth consecutive Premier League victory with a comfortable 3-0 triumph over already-relegated Leicester City.
The Brazilian international delivered a sparkling performance, scoring once and assisting twice to help the resurgent hosts extend their record winning streak in the top flight.
It was another miserable outing for Leicester, who slumped to their 10th defeat in 11 matches, with Jamie Vardy seeing a second-half penalty saved.
Cunha opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, meeting Rayan Ait-Nouri’s low cross from close range to register his 15th Premier League goal of the campaign.
The Wolves forward turned provider just after the break, slipping a precise pass for Jorgen Strand Larsen to finish neatly.
Jose Sa preserved Wolves’ two-goal cushion by denying Vardy from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute, before Rodrigo Gomes wrapped up the win five minutes from time, firing past Mads Hermansen after another tidy assist from Cunha.
This victory marked Wolves’ first run of six consecutive top-flight wins since the period between September and October 1970.
Cunha has now contributed directly to 21 Premier League goals this season (15 goals and six assists), with only Raul Jimenez in 2019-20 (23) involved in more in a single campaign for Wolves.
It was Ait-Nouri who teed up Cunha’s opener, reaching 11 Premier League goal involvements this term (four goals and seven assists), more than any other defender in the division.
Strand Larsen’s strike was his eighth league goal at Molineux this season, equalling the record for most home goals by a Wolves player in a single campaign, a mark previously set by Jimenez in both the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.
Meanwhile, Leicester’s ongoing struggles were further highlighted as they conceded the first goal for the 29th time in 34 matches this term, the most ever by a team in a single 38-game Premier League season.
