The Edo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has pinpointed 60 flashpoints throughout the state’s three senatorial districts in preparation for the upcoming governorship election.
Commandant Gbenga Agun revealed that personnel have been deployed to these identified areas to ensure optimal security.
A total of 6,464 NSCDC officers have received briefings, with measures established to prevent unauthorized access to election sites, according to Politics Nigeria.
The Deputy Commandant-General, Philip Ayuba, stressed the necessity of adhering to the official dress code to minimize confusion and enhance security.
He urged officers to maintain professionalism and be friendly while ensuring compliance with regulations.
“We call on everyone to exhibit good habits; don’t be temperamental. Try to be friendly in telling people to do what they are supposed to do and then, try to also present us well.
“Make sure you abide by the rules of the game. The rule of the game is to be in your normal uniform. Anybody that is not in the right uniform according to the guidelines for this election will be denied,” he said.
