The All Progressives Congress candidate for the Edo governorship election, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has cast his vote at his polling unit.
Recall that the APC reiterated that Okpebholo remains their official candidate for the election scheduled for Saturday, according to Independent.
This statement was made by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, from Abuja.
Morka addressed recent misinformation suggesting that Okpebholo had been disqualified by a magistrate court.
He clarified that the court had disavowed any such ruling, confirming that no official disqualification had taken place.
He condemned the spread of the misinformation as a desperate tactic, asserting, that the claims of disqualification were pure lies, motivated by the fear of losing the election.
“As we approach the Edo gubernatorial election on Saturday, September 21, 2024, some political parties have resorted to deceit and misinformation about our candidate in a last-minute effort.”
“The blackmail dey reach the level wey dem dey spread fake magistrate court ruling wey talk say Sen. Okpebholo, wey be APC candidate for the election, don disqualify.
“The ruling wey dem dey spread na fake, e pure lie and na desperate move as dem dey see say dem go lose for the election,” Morka yarn.
