The former Senator, who represented Kogi West federal constituency, at the Nigeria Senate, Senator Dino Melaye, has won the Peoples Democratic Party’s primary election, held in Kogi State today.
According to the Returning Officer for the election, the spokesperson for the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, polled a total score of 313 votes, to defeat his closest contender, Idoko Ilonah, who polled a score of 124 votes, in the election.
Melaye, who was being criticized and mocked, as someone who cannot rule a state, by the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, recently, beats other contenders like Awoniyi Sunday, who polled 77 votes, Musa Wada, who scored 56 votes, to emerge the party’s candidate for the coming November 11, governorship election, in the state.
