Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has warmly welcomed former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, into the All Progressives Congress.
Kalu praised Anyim’s decision to join the ruling party, stating it will spur development in the South East region and Nigeria as a whole.
Recall that Anyim, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, defected to APC in a public event on Saturday in Ebonyi State.
Kalu believes Anyim’s wealth of experience in the legislature and executive arm of government will significantly contribute to the nation’s progress and development, according to TheNation.
Kalu expressed his pleasure at Anyim’s decision, calling it a step in the right direction for the future of the South East and Nigeria.
He hopes Anyim’s move will inspire other leaders to join hands in unity for the nation’s growth and development.
Kalu said: “It is my pleasure to welcome my big brother, the former Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, to our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“This decision is indeed a step in the right direction for the future of the Southeast and our nation, Nigeria.”
