The Kebbi State House of Assembly has declared four seats of its members vacant after they defected from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party.
Leadership reported that the clerk of the House, Usman Ahmed Bunza, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, in Birnin, Kebbi.
The defecting members include: Hon. Sama’la Abdulmumini Kamba the immediate past speaker, Hon. Muhammed Buhari Aleiro, former deputy speaker, Hon Sama’la Salihu Bui and Hon. Habibu Labbo Gwandu.
According to the statement, the House declared the seats vacant during its plenary session held on Wednesday .
Bunza in the statement said their defection from the APC violated Section 109 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria (as amended).
