The Peoples Democratic Party has witnessed a significant surge in support in Bomadi Local Government Area, Delta State, with a massive turnout of members and a wave of defections from the All Progressives Congress ahead of the July 13 council elections.
At a flag presentation ceremony, PDP candidate Hon. Andaye Rawlings Dagidi and his running mate, Mrs. Powei Bekes, received the party’s flag, marking a significant milestone in the campaign.
The event saw the defection of APC candidate Mr. Ebi Barber and his supporters to the PDP, a move welcomed by Delta State PDP Chairman Olorogun Kingsley Esiso Esq.
Esiso praised the defectors for “leaving darkness behind and embracing the light” and reiterated the PDP’s commitment to delivering dividends of democracy to the council area, according to Independent.
He criticized the APC-led administration for inflicting hardship on Nigerians and urged the electorate to vote for the PDP to uphold good governance.
Former Senator James Manager and Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, expressed confidence in the PDP’s unity and victory in the upcoming elections.
Hon. Dagidi pledged to serve his constituents with passion and determination, ensuring improved service delivery and aligning his administration with the M.O.R.E. Agenda of Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
He stated, “There will be no election in Bomadi local government area on July 13 as it is expected to be a clear victory for the PDP. Our party’s candidate is deeply rooted in the community, a dependable and dedicated party member who understands the challenges facing his constituents.
“The people of Bomadi should rally behind him to empower him to bring the benefits of democracy to every corner of the council area. We, the people of Delta Central, will continue to offer him unwavering support because of his steadfast commitment to the party.”
