A former aide to the immediate former President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has reacted after the Labour Party 2023 Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, joined other chieftains of the All Progressives Congress to attend the wedding ceremony of the son of Barau Jibrin, the Deputy Senate President, in Kano State.
Ahmad reacted to the photo of the former Anambra governor through his X account, formerly known as Twitter.
Abdullahi got married on Friday, August 18, 2023, to Bilkisu Aliyu Sani Madaki, a daughter of the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Aliyu Sani Madaki.
However, among the dignitaries who attended the ceremony, which was held at the Isyaka Rabiu Juma’at Mosque in Goron Dutse, Kano, were Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Senator Ali Ndume, and Kawu Sumaila.
However, the photo of Peter Obi alongside Akpabio and other APC chieftains, which was seen online, has sparked reactions, considering the impending outcome of the 2023 election case before the Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Abuja.
While many people did not see anything bad in Obi’s appearance at the wedding, his numerous supporters had expected that Peter Obi would shun everything associated with the ruling party.
Reacting to the action, Buhari’s ex-aide stated that the Labour Party chieftain has joined real politics, noting that he is happy for him.
“Peter Obi attended the wedding of the Deputy Senate President’s son in Kano today. Peter has just joined real politics; I am happy for him,” Ahmad said.
