An ally to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), AbdulMajid Dan Bilki Kwamada, has issued a warning to the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He warned against secret moves by the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in the February 25 general, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to defect to the All Progressive Congress.
In his reaction to the news of the alleged secret meetings between Kwankwaso and the President-elect, thinking of bringing the NNPP flag bearer into the party, Kwanmada said that “we will fight to a standstill, this move, no matter what will not happen to the party.”
According to Daily Post, Kwamada, who made these remarks during his chat with the newsmen at the NUJ Secretariat in Kano, said APC and the northerners had done their best for Tinubu’s emergence as the president, hence the need for him to pay back, noting that politics in the North is different and challenging to be manipulated by one single person.
He explained that, as an analyst, he knows Kwankwaso to be selfish and always joins a particular group or party for his gains, and not for the benefit of the people, noting that such action will do the party more harm than good.
He further warned that allowing Kwankwaso in the party, amounted to a betrayal to the Northerners, noting that it will not be in favor of Tinubu and in the future politics of this country.
When asked about the rumor of Kwankwaso’s possibility of blocking the vice president-elect’s chances, if he joins the APC, Kwanmada, debunked the rumors, claiming to say that Shettima is far higher than Kwankwaso in national politics.
