The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has sent his condolences to his Personal Assistant on Broadcast Media, Buhari Salau, whose mother, Maryam Muhammed, died on Wednesday at age 65.
Buhari’s condolence message was contained in a statement titled ‘President Buhari commiserates with media aide, Buhari Salau, on the loss of mother’ and signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
In a personal letter to the bereaved aide, the President said: “I received with sadness the news of the death of your dear mother…It is very painful to lose one’s mother, but you must take solace in her richly fulfilled life.
“Her disciplined character reflects in your way of life, ranging from your selfless services and focus, which saw you to your current position.”
Further, the President prayed for forgiveness and peace for the deceased (Aljannah Firdausi).
